Did You Know
This page will give you some insight on things that could make your Dream Vacation a
real nightmare. Take the time to read these tips and ask your travel consultant about
anything you don't understand at the time of booking.
Did you know?
All cruise and tour operators have cancellation policies that are enforced after
reservations and deposits are made. These penalties can be completely covered by
"cancellation insurance". Your travel consultant will always offer you this
insurance. If it is not offered, then ask about it. You need to know in advance when the
penalties begin and how much. Cover your investment with insurance, you never know what
may happen to change your plans.
Did you know?
Some health insurance policies do not pay if you have illness or an accident outside the
USA. This is especially true of Medicare. You can be certain that you have complete
coverage when you purchase your trip insurance from your travel agency. Pre-existing
conditions can also be covered by trip insurance
Did you know?
Most airline tickets are non-refundable and airlines can impose up to $75.00 per ticket
for any changes or re-booking. You will also be responsible for paying any difference in
the new booking. Be sure to check the dates on all your airline tickets at the time you
receive them and call immediately to make corrections. Always repeat your day of the week
and the date of travel when booking an airline reservation.
Did you know?
When making hotel reservations that require a credit card for confirmation always ask for
the telephone number of the hotel in case you have to cancel. You are totally responsible
for any cancellation and your credit card will be billed for a one night
"no-show" charge if you don't show up. Your travel consultant will always
furnish this number for you. Hotel penalties differ in some islands and can be even
greater than one night, ask your travel consultant.

Some resorts in the Caribbean can charge two or three nights deposit and have a 21 day
advance cancellation policy. Make sure you check with your travel consultant to see if
your property has a standard cancellation policy.
Did you know?
If you are taking a cruise or going out of the country you MUST have proof of citizenship.
If you plan to travel or cruise in the Caribbean, all you need is your birth certificate
and your drivers license. BE SURE YOUR BIRTH CERTIFICATE HAS A "RAISED SEAL".
The best document to carry is a US Passport. Before you try to get your passport, you will
need your birth certificate with a "Raised Seal". If you have lost your birth
certificate, you can get a duplicate copy from the State Bureau of Vital Statistics in the
county where you were born. PASSPORTS TAKE FROM 4 - 6 WEEKS to process, so start early if
you are planning a trip or cruise. Your consultant has information on how and where to
obtain a valid US passport or you can call for Passport Information in Washington DC at
202 523 4230.
